On July 17 and 21, at the invitation of Sanya city, GGTC appointed an excellent expert to conduct the technology hall, which had been successfully carried out, and the training had achieved good social effects.
In early 2019, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, together with 18 central ministries and commissions, selected Sanya city as a pilot city for the construction of “waste-free city”, putting forward higher requirements for the standardized management of solid waste. The training is part of the construction of a waste-free city in Sanya.
The “Standardized management training of Hazardous waste in Sanya city” was held in Bahongda Hotel, Sanya, sponsored by Sanya Ecological Environment Bureau, Transportation Bureau, Tourism, Cultural, Cultural and Sports Bureau, and undertaken by Blue Ribbon Marine Protection Association.
GGTC appointed senior experts Professor Bo Bian and Professor Chunlei Zhang to give lectures, and Professor Donglin Zhu, chief scientist of GGTC water science research and development group, planned the entire technical course.
Xin Yang, deputy monitor of Sanya Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment, Zhenyu Liu, deputy monitor of Sanya Municipal Bureau of Transportation, Liu Jiangyan, deputy monitor of Sanya Municipal Blue-ribbon Marine Protection Association and other leaders and representatives attended the training. More than 110 representatives from various automobile repair enterprises and cultural tourism enterprises in Sanya participated in the training. After the training, the audience had a warm and in-depth interaction with the speaker.
The event also received strong support from UNDP agencies in China. Ms. Yi Liu, who is in charge of the UNDP Global Environment Fund Small Grant Program, said that Sanya waste-free training is a good demonstration project of multi-party cooperation and has accumulated beneficial experience. GGTC appointed experts to preside over the training, which played an exemplary role in the cooperation mode between research institutes and local governments.
Through this cooperation, GGTC will maintain close communications with UNDP, expand the scope and depth of cooperation, build trust and support in more areas such as waste-free technology, environmental funds, nature reserves and so on, and jointly contribute to China’s vision of a green future of sustainable development.
